Indian Sports

The country of India is known for producing very talented cricket players. Cricket is everything in India, like soccer in Brazil, or hockey in Canada. Indians take a lot of pride in their sport and every year their national team finishes as one of the best in the world. Most importantly, both men and women can both play cricket and highly competitive levels which widens the opportunities for the population to excel and become professionals at the sport. Would you ever consider playing cricket?

Booming India

The Nation Games of India is a sporting event held in India. It makes up different discipline areas which sportsmen from all around India come together and compete. A list of Traditional Indian food would be Alu Gobi, Alu Matar and Barfi. Compared to other Countries such as America , Germany ,England and Spain Indians celebration of Christmas is quite small. In fact Compared to other religious festivals in India Christmas is quite small compared to other common festivals. This is because the percentage of Christians is only 2.3%  that means that there are over 25 million christians in India.I think india is totally cool because of its festivals, foods and nation games. If you had the chance would you visit India?

Dubai is pretty cool!

Dubai is located in Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab. I would like to visit that there because  1: there is a hotel there that is named  the SAMAYA hotel, but thats off topic. Here are the real reason why. 1: Festivals 2: how beautiful it is and how its always summer and 3: Food. Now lets talk about Dubai.  Dubai’s culture has many different languages English, Urdu, Hindi and Farsi. Their main language is Arabic and English. In Dubai there are many festivals. In January-February there is a marathon or as some people call it a race. The marathon is for a charette along with people who need to get fit. There are three races a 3 km, 10 km, and a 50 km. The winner from each race will win a big amount of cash. Now lets talk about FESTIVAL! Did you know that Dubai is well known for shopper’s paradise. Wow that sounds cool! Anyways more than two million visitors come for the shopping festival. it only till the end of January. Boy I would love to go to a shopping festival! Now food! yummmm! Did you know theres a food festival! In Dubai there is some foods like ours here. for example Hummus, a kind of cheesecake, but there are many dishes there that we most likely won't have here. Like machbous it looks good but I dont know if it would taste good because its lamb. when I think of eating that I think its sad at that it would be gross, but I will never know unless I try it. So Dubai look like a great place to go because of the SAMAYA hotel, festivals and possibly the food. I think I would try to stick with fries and a burger. How about you?

Myanmar

I chose to write about a country called Myanmar. When I looked up the different kinds of foods the one that I liked the most was a snack called Bein Mont. It is a rice pancake.  Another dish I found interesting is the Mohinga. This dish is a rice noodle served with fish soup. I learned that Myanmar kids play with handmade toys. The toys are made from paper, wood, bamboo, metal, and clay. The paper and wooden toys are made in the shape of animals. They play small traditional instruments. Chinlon is a hacky-sack game played with a woven bamboo ball. I would like to play this with them because I have my own hacky-sack I play with. Would you play or make toys with them?

Bangladesh Festivals

Bangladesh is full of all kinds of festivals. Muslims celebrate Ed-ul-fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, Eid-e-Miladunnabi, Muharram etc. Hindus observe Durga Puja, Kali Puja, and Sarashwati Puja among others. Buddha Purnima is the biggest festival for Bengali Buddhists, and Borodin (Christmas) is celebrated by the Christians. Apart from these religious and tribal celebrations they also have several donation festivals. Pohela Boishakh (Bangla New Year) is the biggest among all the festivals in Bangladesh. This day People get into really ice clothes, go out with friends or family, business men open their new book of records and send sweets & fruits to their regular clients, cultural organizations organize cultural programmes, students bring morning processions called Probhat Ferry. Nobanno (Rice) is another of our festivals, which is strongly based in the rural Bangladesh. When the farmers get new rice, they observe this day with Rice flour and sugar mixed in water and Puffed rice. These seem like some pretty cool festivals. Would you go to one? I would.

Boating A Snake

        In the southern part of Indian there was a tradition that have been 400 years and it called Snake Boat Race. It held in August each every year and the winner get the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, named after the first Indian Prime Minister. This event is in Punnamda Lake a wonderful lake place to race a boat. The boat is between 100-140 feet length and the rear of the boat is about 20 feet height. There are 100 oarsmen and 25 signer so the singer give the oarsmen spirited. The race course is 1,370 meter length  and the boat is going to be  advance through the lake like  a fast moving snake. Boat traffic jam coming through.         

Sri Lankan foods

Sri Lankan ancestor’s main food was rice and cereal. People today in Sri Lanka still like to eat these foods but they have expanded their food horizon. Foods to us Americans there are very odd. They have things like spicy stir-fry and vegetables, batter, coconut, and spices. A lot of the dishes here are based on coconut shavings, or coconut milk. I do not like coconut, so I would not fit in here. I am also a very picky eater, so I could never go there. Cricket Champions!!

India has and will always will be recognized for their best catching, and best throwing, athletic cricket players. So India decided to make a national cricket team. The Indian cricket team was established in 1910, and has been growing ever since. They recently just won the cricket world cup on Saturday. They have gotten better and better every year, and I think they will keep getting better and better! They are the best in the world at cricket. Although, they are not that good at soccer, cricket excites the whole country of India. Do you think India is the best team in the world at cricket?

Blogger Episode VII : Attack of the Food

The food that you get here but not that easily here is rasmalai. Here, Rasmalai is not as good as the ones in india. The recipe for this is very interesting. In the dish, it has soft cotton Cheese in a specific sauce which makes the dish very sweet. Traditionally in India, people eat this dish after dinner(not everyday of course)  and/or during Celebrations, Rasmalai can also be served at very important occasions and during festivals. As you can see, this is actually a very interesting food. If you taste it, you will feel a party of flavor in your mouth. If you look at Brandons blog, he talks about other exotic foods.

Normally called “the men in blue” have won two world cups, and have appeared three times.  The british brought cricket to india in the early 1700.  Now over 1 million people attended Indies cricket matches sitting in a crowded Eden Gardens arena.  The rush of seeing Sachin (retired) one of the worlds greatest cricket player get 100 runs. My final question for you would you like to play with the best in India?

In India

If I were going to Asia I would want to go to India. Because I would like to see their culture, One food I would try would try would is Samosa  Chaat. I would try it because it would be new food from their culture. Chaat is a mixture of potato pieces, crisp fried bread Dahi vada or Dahi Bhalla, gram or chickpeas and tangy-salty spices, with sour homemade Indian chilli and Saunth (Saunth dried ginger and tamarind sauce.) If I went to India I would want to also go to Bank’s Holiday a cultural festival. But I think Australias on my list before India.

When anyone asks me where would you want to go in summer or break I always say India. I say India because it is really hot, a lot of spices like currys, and sports especially cricket. If you did asked me which state I would like to go I would say Hyderabad. Hyderabad has many temples and many traditional foods. Some traditional foods would be chicken biryani, chapathi, dal, laddus which are sweets, samosa, dosa,idli, and omelette. These aren't the only foods that are listed there are other types of food. Also cricket (main sport in India)is popular all over the world.Their team is called India national cricket. There all time record was 122 wins and 156 losses. There are also a lot of temples. One of them is Birla Mandir. This temple is the tallest temple in Hyderabad.

So now you know the cultures of the Indians or Hindus. Do you think Indian and American cultures are alike or dislike?
