The Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, or the Southeast Asian Games as it is know, is a multi-sport event hosted every 2 years. It was first held in Bangkok, Thailand in 1959 with twelve sports, namely aquatics, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, cycling, football, shooting, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, and weightliftingAll of these events are Olympic sports, and most are the main sports of the event. The 2015 Southeast Asian Games will be hosted in Singapore from June 5th to June 16th in the main venue of Singapore National Stadium. There will be 11 southeast asian countries, and over 700 athletes participating. Did you know that in the history of this event that Thailand has exactly 5,307 total medals?

  1. I had no idea about thailand winning 5,307 which is a lot compared to the USA in the olympics (2,681). I would love to play basketball in the Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, even though it just started 1979. Did you know that the eleven circles on the Southeast Asian Games Federation logo and flag represent the ASEAN nations and Timor-Leste. If i were you I would read Noah Pruitt blog he talks mostly about all the different sports.
