The Green vine snake

From the Jeff Corwin Experience the animal that I thought was the coolest was the Oxybelis Fulgidus ( the green vine snake). When I was watching it I was thinking how could he of found that. It was so camouflaged. The Green vine snake is not that poisonous. It mostly Eats Frogs, small lizards, and birds. The green vine snake lives in the trees. It is a hiding snake. When it senses a predator it holds still, or if there is wind it will sway in the wind like it is a tree branch. They don't hurt you as long as you don't hurt them. That is just what I learned from the show. The way he held the snake was like he was a tree branch. So the snake thought that it was still in the trees. But even though this snake sounds cool I am still terrified by snakes.

Tick Tock There Goes Captain Hook

Tick Tock There Goes Captain Hook

You might be thinking its Peterpan all over again, but don't worry I am talking about the Gharial Crocodile.  They are currently critically endangered, and without the help by India there might not be any today.  If you compare the two crocodiles Tick Tock and the gharial they are the same.  With the eyes being on the top of its head it can swim while looking around.  The gharial became almost extinct by Gill nets, even protected areas people were fishing.  My final Question for you is would you like to help them?

snakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're like me you hate snakes and is terrified of getting of bit. But hey did you know that you can get cured by the same snake that bityou can cure you. Scientist figure out a way to cure people with venom called the  anti-venom. I think this is really cool because now people won't die from getting bit by snakes anymore, but that doesn’t mean you need to go and make sure you get bit and hope your still alive. If that does happen don’t sue me.

awwww rats

There is a temple in India called Karni Mata it is dedicated to rats! You will mostly see grey rats but sometimes on rare occasion you will see a white rat. The rats are allowed here because they believe that each Indian child that dies is reincarnated into the body of a rat. They put bowls of milk like drinks for the rats and for a blessing at the end of the day some people drink from the bowl too! I wouldn't drink the milk stuff cus like theres a bunch of rat turds in the milky stuff, imagine drinking rat turds(its gross in case you don't know)!

The Temple of 20,000 Rats

I have learned a bought a temple of 20,000 rats. These rats are called kabbas, and are very holy, eating food that has been nibbled on by the rats is considered to be a "high honor," If one of them is killed, it must be replaced with one made of solid gold. It is said that the rats are dead people that are brought back in the form of rats by the goddess of death Yama. Some times if Yama thinks a soul is very pure and good then she will send them back as the form of a white rat people come from miles just to get a glimpse of the holy white rat. The last white rat seen at the temple was over a decade.

Ok, see what I did there? I'm trying to get all of my readers to ditch their lame plans to come follow mine...to want to learn and see more about what I discovered, rather than what they previously thought was the BEST THING EVER

So what are the rules for this blog...what are the grading guidelines? For this post, the rule is that THERE ARE NO RULES!! Use what you have learned thus far in this forum to put your best foot forward. Blog on, Younglings!

Nepal

In Nepal they outside fun is not to different they what we do outside. They go swimming in lakes, play soccer, tag and a lot of other common things we might do outside on a nice day. One of my friends in 4th grade was from Nepal and he brought in a very good snack/treat called Sel roti. Its like a onion ring in America but without the onion and made with rice. Did you know the mountainous north of Nepal has eight of the world's ten tallest mountains, including the highest point on Earth. Would you want to try a Sel roti?
