In Tunisia's desert, where the beginning of Star Wars: Episode IV a New Hope was filmed, is where the set for Tatooine lays. Made up of 20 buildings and is 10,000 square meters of land is slowly getting covered up by sandstorms. A team of scientists has tracked a sandstorm which has already started to cover the set, and the sand is coming in at about 4 cm per day! If there are any fans that want to see this amazing piece of movie history they will have to act quickly and go to
Mos Espa in the Sahara Desert before it is completely buried.
If you could go would you?

ReplyDeletethis is a pretty spicy meme
ReplyDeleteThis is really sad. I'm personally a huge fan of Star Wars, and so the home planet of the main character, Luke Skywalker, being devoured by sand is really terrible. I’ve heard of a prop skeleton being left there but I didn’t know that the huts and other things were left behind as well. I hope that an archaeologist digs it up one day and then reveals it once more. Perhaps even making it a museum?
